LEETONIA 7th annual street festival to start May 23

Food concessionaires are needed for the four-day event.
LEETONIA -- The volunteer fire department and auxiliary are gearing up for the 7th annual fireman's festival, which will be held May 23-26.
The street fair in Leetonia's downtown will be Thursday through Sunday for the first time rather than a Wednesday through Saturday event.
Judy Garlough, wife of Fire Chief Ken Garlough and an auxiliary member, said firefighters and auxiliary members decided to make the change because they believe more people may come to the event on the holiday weekend.
There will be amusement rides, bingo by the fire department and food concession stands throughout the weekend, she said.
Garlough said the auxiliary is planning Kids Day activities for Saturday during the street fair.
The auxiliary members will meet next week to make further plans including some new events for Sunday afternoon, she said.
Hours will be 6 to 11 p.m. May 23, 6 p.m. to midnight May 24, 1 p.m. to midnight May 25 and 1 to 10 p.m. May 26.
Concessions
Firefighter Scott Garlough is in charge of concession arrangements. He said food concessionaires are needed.
Concessionaires may begin setup at 6 p.m. May 22. A $100 deposit is due by May 20.
Garlough said water and electric service will be provided and that firefighters will make electrical connections.
Concessionaires seeking additional information regarding setup and operation during the festival may call Scott Garlough at the village hall, (330) 427-6721.
