Special-needs day campscheduled for August
KINSMAN -- A day camp with one optional overnight experience for boys and girls with special needs will be Aug. 5-9 at Girl Scout Camp Sugarbush, 6515 state Route 88. The camp for ages 6-21 will feature swimming, crafts, cookouts, sports and nature activities. Campers may attend with an aide or caretaker if pre-approved by the camp director. The fee is $40 per camper; the registration deadline is July 23; and transportation will be provided from Southern Park and Eastwood malls. Counselors will be trained adults and youths over age 13. A registered nurse and certified lifeguards will be on duty. BOARDMAN -- Officers were re-elected at the annual council session of Girl Scouts of Lake to River Council at the Holiday Inn here.
Officers of the council's board of directors are Brenda Heidinger, president; Pamela Campbell, first vice president; George Sofranko, second vice president; Geraldine Perrine, third vice president; Patricia Sofranko, secretary; and David Camacci, treasurer.
Girl Scouts of Lake to River Council provides programs to nearly 9,000 girls, ages 5 to 17, in Mahoning, Trumbull, Ashtabula and Columbiana counties.
