Earthquakes 3, Crew 2
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Ramiro Corrales scored a last-minute goal as the San Jose Earthquakes battled from a 2-0 deficit. The win, a rematch of a 2001 playoff series won by the Earthquakes, kept the them atop the Western Conference standings. The defending MLS champion Earthquakes (4-2-1) played without forward Landon Donavan and defender Jeff Agoos, who are with the U.S. national team preparing to play in the World Cup. The Crew (2-4-0) was without U.S. World Cup forward Brian McBride. San Jose substitute Manny Lagos, who missed most of the game with a calf strain, assisted on Corrales' first goal of the season in the 90th minute. The Crew built a 2-0 lead in the first half when Dante Washington hit a short-range shot in the 23rd minute, and Jeff Cunningham scored on a penalty kick in the 43rd. But goals by defender Wade Barrett in the 44th minute and Ronnie Ekelund in the 47th began the San Jose surge.

WASHINGTON -- Sergi Daniv, Peter Nowak, and Ante Razov scored goals as Chicago beat D.C. United to improve to 3-2-1. Fire goalkeeper Zach Thornton was challenged throughout the game, but stopped seven shots for the shutout. It was the fourth time this season D.C. (2-5-0) has been held scoreless.
Galaxy 2, Wizards 1, OT
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Los Angeles reserve Gavin Glinton scored in overtime as tbe Galaxy beat Kansas City. Los Angeles' Brian Mullan opened the scoring in the 12th minute. The Wizards tied it in the 29th minute when Preki converted a penalty kick after defender Tyrone Marshall knocked down Kansas City midfielder Stephen Armstrong from inside the Galaxy's box. The Galaxy improved to 3-2-1, and Kansas City dropped to 1-2-2.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Jason Kreis had a goal and an assist and Joselito Vaca added two assists for Dallas. Dallas (2-1-3) opened the scoring on Ryan Suarez's goal in the eighth minute, and made it 2-0 on Kreis' header in the 39th minute. Diego Serna scored for the MetroStars (3-3-1) in the 42nd minute. The physical match, with 42 total fouls, turned ugly in the final minute of the first half, when Kreis put his hands on MetroStars defender Mike Petke's face.

CARY, N.C. -- Tiffany Roberts scored on a header in 72nd minute to give the undefeated Carolina Courage the victory. Roberts' goal was her first point as a Courage player and the first in SAS Stadium, the team's new home stadium.

VILLANOVA, Pa. -- Marinette Pichon had a goal and an assist and Philadelphia took advantage of an own goal to beat Boston. The score was tied 2-2 early in the second half when Mandy Clemens' crossing pass was inadvertently headed into the Boston net by the Breakers' Michaella Rooney. Clemens and Jen Tietjen added goals for Philadelphia (3-0-0). Kristine Lilly had a goal and an assist, and Maren Meinart also scored for Boston (1-2-1).
