MERCER COUNTY Cincinnati man gets jail term in game fight

Wilson was in the bleachers when a fight broke out between two students behind him in the final minutes of the game.
MERCER, Pa. -- The only adult charged in the fracas at the Feb. 2 Sharon-Farrell basketball game will serve up to 15 months in jail.
Judge Thomas Dobson sentenced Jesse Wilson II, 20, formerly of Sherman Avenue, Sharon, and now living in Cincinnati, to 60 days to 15 months in the Mercer County Jail for resisting arrest. He also fined him $100 for disorderly conduct. He was given two days' credit for time already served.
Wilson could have been sentenced Friday to two years and fined $5,000 for resisting arrest and 90 days and a $300 fine for disorderly conduct.
He pleaded guilty to the charges last month. Additional charges of aggravated and simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and rioting were dropped after an investigation determined Wilson had not deliberately pushed a Sharon police officer who was injured when he fell down the bleachers.
What happened
Wilson was in the bleachers when a fight broke out behind him in the final minutes of the basketball game at Sharon High School.
When he saw three policemen arresting his nephew, he started walking against the crowd to try to get closer.
He contended someone shoved him against a police officer. As he was being placed under arrest, Wilson fought officers who were trying to subdue and handcuff him.
During the fight, a Sharon police officer fell down the bleachers and was treated for minor injuries.
The fight which started between two high school students spread through the gymnasium. It took police from several departments to restore order.
Several juveniles are also facing charges.
