LIONS CLUB CONVENTION David Rice of Sebring club elected District 13 governor



HUDSON -- David Rice of the Sebring Lions Club was elected governor of District 13 during the 36th annual District 13 D Ohio Lions Club convention held March 15-17 at the Holiday Inn. He will be installed as district governor in July during the international convention in Osaka, Japan.
Also elected were Robert Booher of Canal Fulton Lions Club as vice district governor; Verna Williams of Braceville Lions Club as deputy district director; and Donald Flitcraft of Alliance Lions Club as trustee for the Ohio Lions state building.
Details: Weekend speakers were Fred D. Cole of Wheeling, W.Va., past international director; Ohio state Sen. Timothy J. Ryan of the 32nd District; and Carol Starre Kmicik, who presented "Famous American Women."
Entertainment was provided by Youngstown Area Feis Irish Dancers and Danny G's Memories of Elvis Tribute.
Some 61 clubs from Mahoning, Trumbull, Portage, Stark and Columbiana counties participated in the convention. Forums were held on international relations, membership and the Melvin Jones Lions Eye Care Foundation.
Convention chairman was Daniel Brown of Braceville Lions Club, a past district governor.
