Farrell drug suspect remains in jail



Walter L. Cannon, 42, of Roemer Boulevard, Farrell, remained in Mercer County Jail this morning on $55,000 bond after his arrest on drug and other charges.
Sharon police picked up Cannon around 3 p.m. Saturday on warrants charging him with possession, sale and conspiracy to sell crack cocaine as well as failure to appear for a court hearing on a charge of receiving stolen property.
Police said he is accused of selling crack to an undercover police officer twice on March 9 as part of a Weed and Seed program targeting an area along the Sharon-Farrell border. Cannon was arraigned before District Justice James McMahon.
Meanwhile, Pennsylvania State Police said guns, jewelry and a video game were stolen from a home in the 300 block of Lake Road in Millcreek Township, in Sandy Lake, Pa.
The burglary occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Friday, police said.
