YOUNGSTOWN Domestic-related caseload
The Youngstown Police Department Crisis Intervention Unit handles thousands of cases each year. Cases are referred to the unit if the victim of a crime is a family member of the suspect.
1999
The unit investigated 3,186 cases, including 1,449 assaults, 263 reports of criminal damaging or endangering, 88 felonious assaults and 48 sexual assaults.
2000
The unit investigated 3,439 cases, including 1,556 assaults, 284 reports of criminal damaging or endangering, 83 felonious assaults and 54 sexual assaults.
2001
The unit investigated 3,689 cases, including 1,520 assaults, 325 reports of criminal damage, 123 felonious assaults and 53 sexual assaults.
