The Tomcats (5-10) were led by Jim Chester, who doubled and single twice and stole a base in five trips to the plate.
Mount Union 8-8, Malone College 2-9
Brandon McIntyre (2-2) fired a three-hitter and struck out 11 to pick up the win for the Purple Raiders in the first game. Teammates Adam Starr hit a double and two singles and Mike Miller hit a home run and single.
In the second game, Mount Union's Mike Brenner (0-1) worked three and two-thirds innings and gave up the deciding run in the seventh inning. Pet Couch hit a double and two singles for the Purple Raiders.

Freshman Jen Picard (2-0) fired a 4-hitter and struck out 10 going the distance for the Tornadoes (6-6) in the first game. Erin Exler (2-0) allowed only three hits in pitching a complete game. She also hit a two-run home run. Jen Franko and Mandi Cwynar also hit home runs.
