YOUNGSTOWN Man bound as 2 women are raped

YOUNGSTOWN -- A 45-year-old woman told police she was raped in her East Dewey Avenue home early Sunday -- in the same room where three gunmen had bound her 19-year-old son.
The gunmen also took turns raping her son's 18-year-old girlfriend in an upstairs bedroom, police were told.
The victim's son told police that he and his girlfriend were watching television in an upstairs bedroom at about 2:30 a.m. when they heard loud banging on a side door.
Forced way in: He said that when he opened the door, three men, two armed with shotguns, forced their way into the house, slammed him to the floor and bound him with electrical cords. The gunmen brought the man's mother into the room, bound her with extension cords and raped her.
The victim's girlfriend told police that she got scared when her boyfriend failed to return. When she left the bedroom to investigate, she was forced back into the room by one of the gunmen. The gunman covered her face with bed sheets and raped her, she said.
The woman told police she was raped by two other men before being taken downstairs, where her wrists and ankles were bound with electrical cords.
Items stolen: The gunmen then ransacked the house, loading valuables into a 1988 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer that belonged to one of the victims. It was taken from the residence.
Police were notified around 4:30 a.m. after the victims freed themselves.
A family member who does not live at the East Dewey house told police he thinks the attack was gang-related.
