Gentlemen:
Gentlemen:
(I see that you printed part of my & quot;contacts & quot; commentary. Thanks for that,
and for editing it down & lt;grin & gt;. I run off at the keyboard quite well....)
With regard to today's editorial cartoon (Saturday, 16 March), and some other
press coverage....
Doesn't it seem odd....
On 9/11 the United States was attacked by terrorists intent on destroying our
country and killing all of us, as well as all the Jews in Israel.
Since before Israel was founded, Jews in Israel have been attacked by
terrorists intent on destroying their country and killing all of them.
After 9/11 the United States invaded the sovereign territory of Afghanistan
to seize and, if necessary, destroy those who perpetrated this act, _after_
the & quot;authorities & quot; - for all practical purposes the legitimate (or at least
accepted) government of Afghanistan refused to turn these thugs over to us
for punishment.
The Israeli government, after the nominal government of the & quot;occupied
territories & quot; refused to turn over the terrorists they were sheltering,
_entered_ territory nominally still part of Israel to seize and, if
necessary, destroy those who perpetrate attacks against Israeli civilians.
But we seem to think that the United States is right, but the Israeli's are
wrong....
Within the same time frame as 9/11, the Israelis decided to take the
terrorists - people who use their own children as human shields and murder
Jews simply because they're there- at their word, that they were & quot;soldiers & quot;,
and attack them directly, and the US Government rose up (in the person of
Colin Powell) to condemn this.
After 9/11 the United States began a campaign to directly attack the
terrorists who killed so many Americans and others.
Somehow, the Israeli's are wrong?
Obviously somebody thinks the American People are idiots....
Or, maybe we are....
