South Side schoolsare topic of meeting
YOUNGSTOWN -- "Building and renovating our schools on the South Side" will be the topic of the 7 p.m. Wednesday meeting of the Southern Boulevard Block Watch at St. Dominic Parish Center (the former St. Dominic School) at 3403 Southern Blvd.
Superintendent Benjamin McGee and Architect Tom Madej will show and discuss plans for the new Taft Elementary School. Other South Side schools will undergo renovations.
South Range schools
NORTH LIMA -- The South Range Board of Education meeting scheduled for Monday night has been changed to 7:30 p.m. March 25 in the high school library.
Screenings for veteransat center in Butler
BUTLER, Pa. -- The Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 325 New Castle Road, is providing free health screenings for veterans during the monthly health fair and enrollment clinics to be held at the medical center auditorium from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The yearly enrollment with the VA and six-month health screenings are strongly encouraged for all veterans. Procedures available include oral cancer screening, blood pressure testing, blood screening, pneumonia vaccines and cardiovascular risk screening.

Family spring picnicat Boardman park
WARREN -- Northeast Ohio Adoption Services of Warren will have a family spring event April 4 in Boardman Township Park.
A ballpark-style picnic and fun and games for kids will highlight the event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Scrappy, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers mascot, will be on hand.
