YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Elizabeth Health Center's mobile medical clinic will be at the Salvation Army, 1501 Glenwood Ave., from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 25, offering free medical checkups, sick visits, cancer and blood-pressure screenings and other health information and referrals. No appointments are necessary. People with medical coverage must bring their medical card, and children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Mammogram services
YOUNGSTOWN -- The ENCOREplus Program at the Youngstown YWCA is offering mammogram services from noon to 4 p.m. Monday at the YWCA, 25 W. Rayen Ave., in the Phelps Street parking lot. ENCOREplus provides breast cancer screenings and helps refer Mahoning County area women to low-cost or no-cost mammograms. Transportation is available by appointment. Training for program
CANFIELD -- The Mahoning Valley American Cancer Society offers training for its Navigator Plus Program from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at its office, 525 N. Broad St. The program, for all cancer survivors who are one year past their diagnosis and finished with their treatment, matches survivors with individuals who are receiving treatment for a similar cancer. Slimdown scheduled
YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Elizabeth Health Center is offering Slimdown, an eight-week program which teaches how to control weight, taught by clinical nutrition professionals beginning April 1 and 3. Evaluation sessions for Slimdown will be March 25 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. at HM Home Care, 5211 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, and 1:30 p.m. at Humility of Mary Health Partners Business Development office, 4964 Belmont Ave., Liberty; and March 27 at 7 p.m. at Assumption Village, 9800 Market St., Boardman. Spin for a Cure
BOARDMAN -- The American Cancer Society, in conjunction with six local health clubs and fitness centers, is having its fifth annual Spin for a Cure fund raiser on Saturday, Boardman Glenwood Middle School, 7635 Glenwood Ave. Participants ride a stationary bike and pedal at various speeds during 40-minute classes beginning at noon. Participants pay $100 per session to ride and also may solicit sponsors. Over the past four years, Spin for a Cure has generated about $185,000 for ACS. Dogwood tree offer
Ten free white flowering dogwood trees will be given to each person who joins The National Arbor Day Foundation this month.
The free trees are part of the nonprofit Foundation's Trees for America campaign.
Members also receive a subscription to Arbor Day, the foundation's monthly publication, and The Tree Book, with information about tree planting and care.
To become a member of the foundation and receive the free trees, send a $10 contribution to Ten Free Dogwood Trees, National Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, Neb. 68410 by March 31.
Parenting workshop
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Catholic Charities Regional Agency will have workshop sessions for parents with children from birth to 6 in April and May.
The topics include skills needed to build and keep a positive relationship with your child, handling the stress of parenting and the developmental stages and expectations for children from birth to age 6.
Sessions are scheduled for April 11, April 25, May 9 and May 16 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the CCRA, 4495 Market St. The workshops will be conducted by licensed counselors.

Analyzing blood
WARREN -- The Warren Rotary Club offers its annual blood analysis program from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at Scope Inc., 220 W. Market St. The blood tests include a chemistry and thyroid profiles.
