UApproved Thursday a new policy for admission of students who attended nonchartered schools such as home school, religious or foreign school. The policy sets up general procedures and guidelines to determine how students should be evaluated and placed in grade levels from kindergarten through 12th grade; how credits, grades and grade-point average will be determined and that all board graduation requirements must be met to participate in commencement exercises.
UAccepted the resignation of Nick Gallo as assistant baseball coach because he is attending school and hired Ken Suich in his place at $736 a year. Volunteer assistant track coaches will be Steve Durbin and Barb Adair. Lauren Hake will be girls junior high school track coach at $1,228 a year.
U Heard Anthony Russo, principal at Roosevelt Elementary School, say parents who have not yet registered their children for kindergarten next year can obtain materials at the school Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. There are 41 students now signed up for kindergarten screening, which will be March 28 and April 11.
UAnnounced the next regular meeting for April 18 at 6 p.m. instead of April 11.
