Weathersfield makes zoning decisions
MINERAL RIDGE -- Weathersfield Township trustees Tuesday upheld decisions from the township's zoning commission and approved a zone change from agricultural to commercial A at 2581 W. Liberty St.
Trustees denied, as did the commission, a zone change from agricultural to commercial B at 2539 W. Liberty St. Trustees voted 2-0 on the requests, in the absence of Trustee James Price.
The commercial A classification permits service-type businesses such as doctors' offices, beauty shops, convenience stores or other small business offices. The commercial B classification allows a broader use such as for restaurants, hotels and gas stations, which also assumes a higher traffic level, zoning inspector Sherri Craver said.
Also approved was a zone change from agricultural to commercial A sought by Joseph Hopkins at 2581 W. Liberty St. on a four-acre lot that now has a house on it.
Denied was a request for the agricultural to C-B zoning request made by Leo Irwin on a 6.5-acre parcel at 2539 W. Liberty, which also has a house on it.
