ORLANDO, Fla. -- Junior Steph Hartman threw a complete-game two-hitter to lead Youngstown State to a 2-1 win over Wagner on Monday.
Freshman Char Kudlock went 2-for-3 for YSU (1-3).
The Penguins also lost to Yale, 5-3.

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- Marshall cruised to its seventh win in eight starts with an 11-4 verdict over Youngstown State Monday.
Marshall led 11-2 after eight innings before YSU (0-4) scored twice in the ninth.
Men's tennis
CONWAY, S.C. -- Costal Carolina scored a 7-0 win over the Youngstown State men's tennis team on Monday. The Chanticleers are 6-3 while YSU fell to 0-8.

Poland tickets
POLAND -- Tickets for Wednesday's Division II regional boys basketball game between Poland and Canton South will be sold today until 5 p.m. and Wednesday until 2 p.m. at the Poland High athletic office.
The Bulldogs will play Canton South Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Canton Civic Center.
Oldtimershave meeting
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown Baseball Oldtimers will meet Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Holiday Bowl. Pictures of the Hall of Fame honorees and board members will be taken. The annual Hall of Fame banquet will be May 5 at St. Michael's Hall in Campbell.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Doug Dieken, an integral part of the Cleveland Browns football tradition for 25 years, will serve as the guest speaker for this year's Curbstone Coaches Hall of Fame banquet.
The 35th ceremony by the organization will take place on May 19th at Mr. Anthony's Banquet Center at 6 p.m.
Dieken played 14 seasons for the Browns and is one of just 12 men in the history of the professional sports to play in over 200 consecutive games. A 1980 Pro Bowl selection, he holds the Browns record of 203 consecutive games played and 194 consecutive games started.
Seventeen new members are set for enshrinement. Tickets are $35 per person and can be obtained by calling (330) 758-6908.
Mall to hostcar show
MERCER, Pa. -- Southern Park Mall will host the Mercer Raceway Park "Where Saturday Nights Come Alive" Dirt Track Race Car Show Wednesday through Sunday. Hours for the show are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Friday night will be the kickoff of the Grove City Auto Mall "Meet Your Heroes" Nights. Drivers will sign autographs from 7 to 8 p.m. Kids can pick up a free custom autograph card.
Fans can also pick up a copy of the 2002 Mercer schedule and purchase a "Marquee" pass for $80, which will admit the holder into eight of Mercer's premier events. T-shirts will also be sold.
Among the machines to be displayed will be the sprint cars of Kevin Andrusky, Doug Stanley and P.J. Kerr; autos driven by Rodney Beltz, Zack Moran, Scott Kay, Lou Gentile will also be there.

Indians luncheon
CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Indians Charities will host their First Pitch Luncheon April 9 at noon in the Cleveland Convention Center Ballroom.
The First Pitch Luncheon will give Indians fans an opportunity to see their favorite Indians players, meet the newest members of the team and get a season preview from owner Larry Dolan, General Manager Mark Shapiro and Manager Charlie Manuel.
Tom Hamilton, the voice of Indians' radio broadcasts, will host the event.

An All-Star Table may be purchased for $1,500, which includes nine tickets plus seating with a player, coach, alumni or broadcaster.
Individual tickets cost $100. Guests will receive a commemorative gift.
The first 500 fans to purchase tickets will attend a post-luncheon autograph session from 1:30-2 p.m.
Kent rally
KENT -- A pep rally to send the Kent State men's and women's basketball teams to the NCAA tournaments will be held today at 5:45 p.m. at the Memorial Athletic Convocation Center.
Both teams will be in attendance as well as the Kent State pep band, cheerleaders and dance team.

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. -- Pete Sampras, looking for his first title since Wimbledon in 2000, began the Pacific Life Open with a 7-6 (5), 6-2 victory over qualifier Mardy Fish.
Top-seeded Lleyton Hewitt opened with a victory over Carlos Moya, and second-seeded Yevgeny Kafelnikov defeated Jonas Bjorkman.
Two high seeds in the women's competition -- Justine Henin and Meghann Shaughnessy -- lost their fourth-round matches.
Daniela Hantuchova, an 18-year-old Slovakian, beat the third-seeded Henin, Anna Smashnova defeated the sixth-seeded Shaughnessy.
