YOUNGSTOWN -- Police are investigating the stabbing of a 15-year-old West Princeton boy Saturday afternoon.
The boy's mother told police her son had been in an argument that turned physical with a girl, no age given. Reports say the girl eventually pulled out a steak knife and, after several attempts, stabbed the boy in his arm. The boy went home, and he and his mother later contacted the police.
Couple robbed at home
YOUNGSTOWN -- A 59-year-old Bissell Avenue woman told police she and her boyfriend, no age or address listed, were robbed and made to leave their home early Friday afternoon.
Reports say the woman awoke to two armed gunmen standing over her. Both of the men, reports said, had been frequent visitors to the home.
The woman told police one man threatened to shoot her before taking $975 and a Sony PlayStation video game. The woman's boyfriend tried to intervene and was punched in the neck; then, one of the men fired a shot through the floor, reports said.
Easter celebration
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Community Easter Gospel Celebration will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at McGuffey Centre, 1649 Jacobs Road, for children 3 to 12 years old.
Registration begins at 9 a.m., and a door prize will be presented. There will be prizes, games, refreshments and Easter baskets presented to the children participating.
All children must have their parents or guardians sign a release form. The deadline for signing that form is Tuesday. A signup sheet will be at the main branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County on Wick Avenue.
