Officials to share viewson government setup
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Some Lawrence County elected officials will get a chance to tell the county government study commission their views on the setup of county government. The study commission is meeting at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in the fourth-floor conference room of the county government center.
The commission, a nine-member, nonpartisan board, is looking at the structure of county government to see if there is a more efficient and economical form. The county treasurer, prothonotary, recorder of deeds and wills and controller have been invited to speak at Tuesday's meeting. Past elected officials have also been invited to attend.
The study commission has about seven months to make a recommendation. Voters will decide in the next general election if that recommendation will be implemented.
