ORLANDO, Fla. -- Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church was the setting at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 2 for the wedding of Anastasia Maria Gionis and John Demetrios Lagoutaris. The Rev. Dean Gigicos officiated, assisted by the Rev. Mark Elliott and the Very Rev. George Pappas.
After a reception at the Downtown Marriott Hotel ExpoCentre, the couple left on a trip to Aruba.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. George Gionis of Orlando and Dr. and Mrs. Demetrios Lagoutaris of Canfield.
The bride's gown of matte satin was accented with Venise lace, rhinestones and pearls. The full skirt fell to a chapel train.
Amethyst gowns were worn by the matron of honor, Krisa Roma, and the bridesmaids, Eirini Chaddon, Dr. Amy Creech-Gionis, Elina Kassianides, Jeanne Lagoutaris, Maria Lagoutaris, Tasi Matthews, Kareen Ver Helst and Stephanie Woodcock. Flower girls were Ashlyn Gionis and Venetia Lagoutaris.
Dr. Emmanuel Lagoutaris performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were Dean Gionis, Stephen Gionis, John Hruby, Ted Karabatsos, Jason Kouvaras, Dr. Efstratios Lagoutaris, Arte Roman and James Siatras.
Alex Gionis was stefana bearer, and ring bearer was Demetrios Lagoutaris. Koumbari were Catherine Psarakis and Irene Steffas.
The bride holds a bachelor's degree in sports administration from Stetson University in Deland, Fla. The groom graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in combined science. He is enrolled at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland.
