U Approved an ordinance creating funds for future Marshall Road waterlines and sidewalks of $385,000 and $235,000, respectively.
U Passed a 2002 budget totaling $4,410,943.
U Authorized Mayor James Border to submit funding applications to the Ohio Public Works Commission for the Sixth Street safety upgrade project. The project will extend Sixth to McDonald Avenue, enabling double exits from the new Roosevelt Elementary School for emergency purposes.
U Accepted the resignation of building inspector Mark Witkoski and Border's appointment of Craig Callow to replace him.
U Heard Border announce he is taking applicants for the position of assistant building inspector.
U Heard Border announce he is seeking graduating McDonald students to apply for summer jobs as street workers, park attendants and a park supervisor. Applicants must be planning to attend college in the fall.
U Heard Border say he is initiating a village beautification committee, chaired by council member Rose Yakubov, and asking volunteers to call the administration building.

U Heard Don Strock, who is in charge of building the new gazebo, say the project has enough money to build curbs, a sidewalk and lighting. He estimated lights would cost $600 to $800 each. The dedication will be March 20.
U Heard zoning inspector Sam Lee report that he issued five permits for a new home, an addition, two pole barns, a fence and a swimming pool. Lee said he has issued eight permits and taken in $370 in fees so far this year.
U Tabled the awarding of a contract for limestone after two bids came in at the identical amount of $11.15 per ton.
U Announced that the road department will chip and seal portions of the following roads in 2002: Herr Fieldhouse, Shanks Down, CountyLine Turnpike, Leiby Osbone, Barclay Messerly, Herner Countyline and Geauga Porter Easterly.
