Browns back on MNF
CLEVELAND -- It may only be a preseason game, but the Cleveland Browns have won a bit of respect from the NFL with a return to Monday Night Football on ABC.
The Browns will play the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in the nationally televised game Aug. 26.
The last time the Browns played on Monday Night Football was the 1999 preseason in the Hall of Fame game against Dallas. That also was Cleveland's first NFL game since the original Browns team moved to Baltimore after the 1995 season.
"The entire Browns organization is looking forward to the opportunity to highlight our 2002 team before a prime-time audience. Being part of Monday Night Football is always special," said Carmen Policy, team president and chief executive officer.
The Browns open the preseason at Minnesota, then play at home against Detroit before traveling to Green Bay.
