Leadership meeting
BOARDMAN -- More than 100 adult professional Girl Scout staff members from eight states will be attending a leadership meeting this evening through mid-day Saturday at the Holiday Inn here.
Motivational speakers will be Youngstown's own Karen Vadino, who has been in the human services field for more than 20 years, and who will address the group this evening; and Emory Austin, 1999 recipient of the National Speakers Association's highest award, who will speak Friday .
Workshop topics will include personal safety, financial planning, membership management and conflict resolution.
Sidewalk office hour
WARREN -- Councilman John Homlitas, D-3rd, will have his monthly sidewalk office hour from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday on Atlantic Street, between Willard and Kenmore N.E.
Homlitas said he wants to find out what residents think of assessments for street maintenance -- a program some lawmakers and officials have discussed.
