YOUNGSTOWN -- Married at 2 p.m. June 8 at Alpha and Omega First Baptist Church were Tina Louise Kitchen and Donald Edward Lucas. Parents of the bride are Merry Kitchen and Donald Kitchen, both of Youngstown, and the groom is a son of Benny Lucas of Fayetteville, N.C., and the late Terry Lucas.
The Rev. Ricky Tigner officiated, and a reception was held at the Mahoning Country Club in Girard. The couple spent their honeymoon on a Caribbean cruise and are living in Houston.
The bride's strapless satin gown featured embroidery on the bodice and an embroidered inset in the skirt's double pleats. The skirt also had a chapel train of tulle.
Margie Flanagan was matron of honor, and maid of honor was Nina Upshaw. They wore periwinkle and platinum-colored gowns, as did the bridesmaids, Jamia Edmonson and Trimeca Kitchen. Flower girl was Desnia McElroy.
Anthony Loving performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were DeSean Lucas and Vincent Rice. Ashton Kitchen was ring bearer, and also participating were Jasmine Kitchen, Daniele Lucas, and James and Stephen Flanagan.
Mrs. Lucas holds a bachelor's degree from Kent State University and a juris doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston. She is a staff attorney with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Huntsville, Texas.
Mr. Lucas, a veteran of the U.S. Army, graduated from North Georgia College. He is assistant manager of Walgreen's, Houston.
