McDonald Steel pact
McDONALD -- United Steelworkers of America and International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 377 ratified a five-year contract with McDonald Steel Corp. A tentative agreement was reached late Thursday, and the workers ratified the contract Saturday morning, a company news release said. A company spokesman declined to comment on details of the agreement. McDonald Steel, founded in 1981, and for which this is the first union contract, operates in the former McDonald Works of U.S. Steel. The agreement follows three failed attempts by labor unions to organize the company's workers.
