Hoopers mark anniversary at family cookout



BOARDMAN -- Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Hooper of 7060 West Blvd. were honored June 16 at Glenwood Primitive Methodist Church in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary with a "This is Your Life" skit.
A family cookout at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Larry Brunker of Youngstown, followed. The couple's family also includes another daughter, Nancy Pritchard of Youngstown; their son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Hooper of Lexington, S.C.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Mr. Hooper and the former Irene Peterson were married June 17, 1942, at South United Presbyterian Church. He served with the 15th Air Force 301st B17 Bomber Group based in Italy during World War II and was employed as a sales engineer for the F. & amp; W. Ursem Co. until retiring in 1981. He also worked at the Youngstown Foundry & amp; Machine Co., where his wife worked until 1947 when she became a homemaker.
The couple are members of Glenwood Primitive Methodist Church.
