Garden Forum holds flower show

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area held a flower show June 15 and 16 at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park.
Judges for the event were Sophie Bland, Beryl Miller, Arlene Logan, Dorothy Haddox, Elsie DeHoff and Pearl Marlos. Chairman was Evelyn Resek.
Blue ribbons in the artistic design category were won by Regina Webb, Salem; Marlos, Silver Leaf; and Betty Jones, Gleaners. The gold seal in design went to Marlos.
In the horticulture division, blue ribbons were awarded to DeHoff, Irene John, Norma McMahon and Mary Schall, Austintown; Rose Marie Roth, Daphne; Margaret Mary Walsh and Millie Campean, Gleaners; Carol Estok and Stephanie Sheely, Lowellville; Sheila Bowman and Regina Webb, Salem; Martha Murphy and Audrey Korenic, St. Edward; Marlos, Silver Leaf; Beverly Shanek, Sweetbriar; Haddox, Our Lady of Fatima; Bland and Marlene Menold, members-at-large; and Dick Eddy and Wanda Vine, public.
Gold seals in horticulture were won by Haddox, Sheely and Marlos.
