Family dinner party held to celebrate Smiths' 50th wedding anniversary

GIRARD -- The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. David Smith, Tibbetts Wick Road, was celebrated June 29 during a family dinner party held at Alberini's Restaurant in Niles.
Hosts for the festivity were the couple's children and their spouses, Tim and Doris Smith of Vienna, James and Kathy Smith of Granville, Heidi and Jim Elsey of New Wilmington, Pa., and Eric and Sherri Smith of Livonia, Mich. There also are eight grandchildren in the family.
The former Virginia Watson and Mr. Smith were united in marriage June 27, 1952, in Niles. They are members of Hubbard Church of the Nazarene, where Mrs. Smith is the secretary.
Mr. Smith served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War and is employed in sales with National Industrial Lumber, North Lima.
