ON CAMPUS College news and notes



HEIDELBERG
Courtney Mazey (Howland) will play basketball for The Berg. Mazey earned two basketball letters at Howland and served as team captain. Last season as a senior, he averaged 13.2 points and 5.2 rebounds. His junior year, he averaged 10 points, six rebounds three assists. Mazey plans to major in education. He is the son of Teresa and Kevin Mazey.
WESTMINSTER
Emily Henry (Bristol) a junior center-fielder, was the fourth-leading hitter on the team among the regulars this season. Henry batted .279 (17-for-61) with 12 RBIs and eight runs scored.
Heidi Kimmel (Poland), a freshman first baseman, was a starter, batting .238 (20-for-84) with 10 RBIs and 13 runs.
Katie Porter (West Middlesex), a freshman pitcher-infielder, played in a sub's role. She batted .250 ( 1-for-4) and had a 0-1 pitching record in two appearances. Westminster compiled a 17-12 record under coach Jan Reddinger of New Wilmington, in her sixth season.
PAC ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL
The area had 16 student-athletes on the Presidents' Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll for the spring semester. To qualify for these honors, a student must have a 3.6 grade-point average or better. Westminster had 10 area selections: Sarah Anzelmo, senior, swimming, history, Warren Harding; Don Brown, senior, track, molecular biology, Mohawk High and Edinburg; Jim Chaney, freshman, track, history, Mohawk High and Edinburg; Kevin Culp, junior, baseball, mathematics, Canfield High; Greg Foster, junior, basketball, physics, Ursuline High and Girard; Teale Ganster, junior, women's basketball, speech communications, LaBrae High; Heidi Kimmel, freshman, softball, political science, Poland High; Katie McKissick, freshman, track, biology, Laurel High and New Castle; Felicie Reed, freshman, women's track, environmental science, South Range; Robin Thayer, senior, women's basketball, financial economics, South Range.
Thiel College and Grove City College each had two area selections, while Washington & amp; Jefferson and Waynesburg College had one apiece. Picked from Thiel were A.H. Davis, junior, men's basketball, biology and pre-medicine, Boardman; and Caleb Goist, sophomore, baseball, pre-dentistry, Columbiana. Selected from Grove City were Kylee DeNome, sophomore, women's track, business communication, Wilmington Area High; and Marissa Stillwagon, senior, women's golf, elementary education, New Castle. From W & amp;J is Don Brunker, senior, men's, basketball, chemistry, Boardman; and from Waynesburg is Ashley Sham, junior, softball, athletic training, Sharon.
