CLASS B BASEBALL Yo. Propane maintains lead with 11-3 win over Express



Line Drive kept pace in the standings by defeating Riordans, 7-3.
STRUTHERS -- Class B League leader Youngstown Propane used three big innings to defeat Youngstown Express 11-3 Friday at Cene Park and improve its record to 21-3.
Propane scored four times in the second and fourth and three times in the sixth. Gary Hinkson had three hits, including a double, while Jared Bogan had two doubles and Sean Weyant two singles for Propane.
Paul Suhar had a three-run home run in the fourth, while Tom Zetts and Bogan had two RBIs each for the winners.
For the fourth-place Express (13-11), Bob Kaaikaula had a triple and a single and two RBIs. Chuckie Horner added a triple.
Line Drive 7, Riordans 3: Line Drive improved its record to 20-4 with a win over Riordans.
Dimitrius Makridis drove in one run with a triple and scored on a home run by Ryan Vaughn in the three-run fourth inning.
Matt Repec (2-0) gave up three unearned runs over five innings to get the win.
Greg Mentrek and Joe Basta each had two hits for Riordans (12-12).
Roth Brothers 11, Astro Falcons 4: Roth (8-16) won its third game in a row, while Astros slipped to 15-9.
Josh Skraba (3-1) pitched a complete game, allowed just five hits, two earned runs and struck out six. He walked seven.
Steve Ripple, Bob Dubovec, Matt Thompson and Kyle Barker had two hits each for Roth, which had 12 hits. Seven of the Roth hits were for extra bases. Frank Turocy and Joe Lopez had doubles for Astros.
Livi Steel 5, Rondinelli Tuxedo 4: Livi Steel (9-15) scored four unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Phil Butch had two hits, including a two-run single in the fifth inning, while Kurt Weaver also had two singles for the winners.
Juan Torres pitched a complete game, scattering nine hits in gaining his first win of the year.
George Rohan took the loss despite giving up only one earned run in four and two-thirds innings. He also had two singles for Rondinelli (8-16), while Josh Conkey had a double.
Becdir 8, Lazart 7: Becdir stayed alive for the fifth and last Connie Mack spot with the win.
For Becdir (10-14), Gary Bucuren had three hits and two RBIs, while Matt Bradley, Luke Srock and Ralph Festa had two hits each.
Festa, the third Becdir pitcher of the game, struck out the side in the top of the seventh and got the win to go to 4-2.
Dean Stokes and Dustin Rivera had two hits each for Lazart, while Jason Nolfi and Steve Varkony had two RBIs each.
Robert Stull suffered the loss, his fifth in six decisions, for Lazart (4-20). Stull struck out nine.
