NILES Board awards paving contract
Twenty-one streets will be paved.

NILES -- The board of control has awarded a contract for the 2002 street resurfacing program.
Gennaro Pavers of Warren won the contract with a bid of $333,797. Also bidding on the project were Northern Ohio Paving of Twinsburg and McCourt Construction of Girard.
City Engineer Mark Hess said Wednesday the company will have 10 days to accept the job, at which point it will meet with the city to finalize plans.
Hess expects that work could begin in three to four weeks.
The starting location of the project will be determined during pre-construction meetings.

The 21 roads scheduled to be paved are:
UEast Federal Street from Main street to Vienna Avenue.
ULinden Avenue from Robbins Avenue to Vienna Avenue.
UWest Street from Federal Street to George Street.
USteel Street from Federal Street to Main Street.
UUnion Way from Warren Avenue to the end.
UStanton Avenue from Third Street to the end.
UA section of Battles Avenue at the end.
UWood Avenue from Mason Street to Henry Street.
UHigh Street from Mason Street to Baldwin Avenue.
UNorth Carnegie Avenue from Robbins Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue.
USummit Avenue from Olive Street to Sewage Plant Drive.
UPratt Street from Park Avenue to the railroad tracks.
UBean Street from Cedar Avenue to Beaver Avenue.
UBean Street from Washington Avenue to Lincoln Avenue.
UNorth Rhodes Avenue from Clark Street to Taft Street.
UOak Forest Drive from Vienna Road to Deer Trail.
UBlossom Lane from Cassandra Drive to Trumbull Drive.
