Honored senior Ryan Petrick with a plaque for being undefeated in track this season and for winning in the 800-meter run at the state track competition. He plans to attend Youngstown State University this fall, majoring in education, and hopes to be a coach.
Approved the resignation of Helen Slack, career technology teacher.
Hired B.J. Lawrence as teacher for the hearing impaired to work 30 extra hours on a deaf-studies grant at the summer school rate of $15.10 per hour.
Awarded supplemental contracts to coaches and to Renee Johntony as musical director and contracts to Dean Dairy and Nickles Bakery for dairy and bakery products for the 2002/2003 school year.
Set July 5 as an additional holiday for 12-month employees.
Increased the high school lunch price for next school year from $1.75 to $2, middle school from $1.75 to $1.90 and adult lunches from $2.10 to $2.50.
Approved spending $10,615 for high school textbooks and $19,365 for middle school textbooks.
