LEETONIA -- Village officials have lifted an order for village water customers to boil drinking water. Village Administrator Gary Phillips issued the order last week as a precaution after crews repaired a water main break. Phillips said the Environmental Protection Agency requires a boil order and water testing whenever a waterline is opened because of the possibility that bacteria or other contaminants could get into the line.
Yard sale fund-raiser
COLUMBIANA -- A yard sale will be 8:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at The Way Station, 42131 state Route 14. Proceeds from the sale of the items, donated by Youngstown State University students, will benefit The Way Station's building purchase campaign.

Home break-in
WELLSVILLE -- Two people broke into a Madison Township man's home and robbed him, the Columbiana County Sheriff's Department says. A man living along state Route 45 was awakened about 2:30 a.m. Friday by a noise in his home.
He found a woman in the house who said she had heard glass breaking and was checking to see if he was all right. She was joined by a man. Brandishing a handgun, the two people ordered the man to hand over his money. He gave them about $65, a sheriff's spokesman said.
Missing woman found
SALEM -- A 90-year-old nursing home resident spent a night outside after wandering away from the facility, Perry Township Police said. Alice DeCrow left the Altera Sterling House about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, police said. DeCrow was found by searchers in a wooded area along South Ridge Drive about half a mile from the nursing home around 8:30 a.m. Sunday. She was treated at Salem Community Hospital.
Food distribution
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- The next surplus food distribution for Lawrence County residents is Friday.
Each recipient will receive a $15 voucher, corn, sliced potatoes, tomato sauce, two kinds of juice and assorted other items. Township and borough residents who missed signup in May are not eligible to receive this month's food.
City residents must have a yellow card. Those who do not have one can get one through Thursday at the Lawrence County commissioners offices. For distribution location places and times, contact the county commissioners offices at (724) 656-2167.
Sharon man charged
JAMESTOWN, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police have charged a Sharon man with attempted homicide, robbery and other charges in an assault on a Liberty Street woman. Ronald L. Moss, 44, of New Castle Avenue, Sharon, was arrested in Farrell early Friday and arraigned before District Justice Lawrence Silvis, who ordered him held in the Mercer County Jail with bond set at $100,000. He remained in jail this morning.
Police said he forced his way into the home of Helen Moss, 65, assaulted her and took money and other items with a total value of more than $4,000. He is charged with attempted homicide, robbery, burglary, theft, criminal trespass and aggravated assault. Police didn't know if the two Mosses are related.
Arrested after assault
SHARON, Pa. -- Anthony M. Dillon Jr., 21, of Dawson Avenue, Pittsburgh, was in Mercer County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond today following his arrest for an assault on a Sharon man in a Chestnut Avenue parking lot around 2:20 a.m. Sunday. Police said Dillon head-butted the man in the nose and then held a knife to his throat, threatening to cut him. Dillon was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated and simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, making terroristic threats and public drunkenness.
