BABE RUTH (14-15s)
Sluggers 12, East Side Kiwanis 0 -- Aaron Pollack pitched four shutout innings, striking out five. Dave Piersante went 4-for-4 with two RBIs. Pollack went 3-for-4 while Greg Sansone went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Bryan Boyce added two singles and an RBI.
Line Drive 10, Astros 5 -- Chester Kirkwood, Sean Satterlee, Dom Modarelli, and Brian Daugherty all had two hits. Grant Sevek and Jared Bartholomew hit triples.
Line Drive 14, Commercial Neon 2 -- Grant Sevek had three hits while Brian Daugherty, Marc Rossi, Jared Bartholomew, Andy Todor, and David Patrick all had two. Patrick was the winning pitcher, throwing a complete game.
Campbell 6, Commercial Neon 5 -- Jimmy Bigley pitched a complete game while Justin Vrona, Craig Dirienzo, Nick Durkin, Ryan Firm & amp; Bigley all hit safely. Jeff Eck had two hits for Neon.
Astros 12, Storm 6 -- Dave Vitko pitched four innings for the win. Fred Weidenthal had four hits. Pat Figley tripled and Bill Sattler doubled. Kevin Lee had two hits for Storm, one being a home run.

Line Drive Academy 9, Astros 3 -- Brian Daugherty's record improved to 2-0 on the season as he shut down the Astros through five innings. Marc Rossi threw scoreless relief. Dom Modarelli went 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Jared Bartholomew had an RBI double. Fred Wiedenthal had two hits for Astros.
Babe Ruth (13s)
Lawrence County Cougars 12, Motif's 2 -- Mark Butler was the winning pitcher. Brandon Ray and Mark White each had three hits.
Line Drive Academy 15-17, Convienient 4-5 -- Line Drive swept the doubleheader with Steubenville behind the extra base attack of Frankie LaRubbio and Scooter Hargate. LaRubbio hit two doubles and a triple while Hargate had two doubles and two triples. Josh Gardner and DJ Ronci added four and three hits, respectively. Dom Silvestri was the winner in Game 1 and Ronci took the win in Game 2.

Struthers Daily Legal News 10, Columbiana Graft Electric 5 -- Chris Broderick struck out five and hit a two-run homer to lead Struthers. Adam Zappia had a two-run double. Frank Speziale doubled and Tom Peluso had two hits and three RBIs for Struthers. Eric Gustofson and Shawn Ortiz each doubled for Columbiana.
Tri-T PONY (13-14s)
Boardman Mayo & amp; Associates 8, Springfield New Middletown Lions 4 -- Rich O'Brien doubled and drove in two runs while pitching Boardman to victory. Zach Smith and Mike Berry each had three hits with a run scored. Ken Kelso, Nick Schiavoni and Brad Franczkowski each added two hits.
Austintown Koch Construction 5, Struthers Gridiron 4 -- Brian Weidenthal scored the winning run and had two hits. Doug Hurdley also contributed two hits, while Greg McGlynn pitched a complete game.
Columbiana Post 290 7, Niles Groover Roofing 5 -- Billy Sattler pitched a seven-inning complete game for the win. He struck out 11 batters. Tommy DeChellis hit a two-run homer, and Steve Whitfield hit a solo home run. Jeff Rupert had two doubles.
Columbiana Post 290 4, Canfield Anthem Blue Cross 3 -- Jeffrey Harold had two hits, including the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh inning. Tommy DeChellis also had two hits, including a two-run home run. Mike Welce added a double and scored twice. For Canfield, Patrick Bellish and Tarik Awad each doubled, and Dan Goske had two hits. Andrew Turocy struck out seven batters.

SOFTBALL
The Valley Extreme 14U will play in the Aunt Rosie's Tournament in Amherst, NY over the July 4th weekend. The team has competed in eight tournaments, with three second-place finishes and two thirds. They were third at the Compuware Tournament in Canton, Mich. Valley Extreme beat the Ohio Ice 11-10, Pittsburgh Power 4-3, Pittsburgh Stealers 7-2, and Grand Slam 15-7, before losing to the winners of the tournament, Ohio Ice 3-2. The pitching staff is led by Sarah Albani, Tricia Bailey, Lindsay Whetzel, and Casee Piquet. The team has a combined batting average of .323, and an overall record of 28-9. Team members are Michelle Antonelli, Casee Piquet, Lindsay Whetzel, Lauren Whetzel, Kelly Moore, Tricia Bailey, Lauren McCumber, Chelsea Butler, Sarah Albani, Brittney Bucco, Katie Scannell, and Miranda Polito. Coaches are Bruce Whetzel, Pete Bucco, Jim Bailey, and Tom Albani.
