SLIPPERY ROCK, PA. Program looks at area wildlife



SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Children ages 6 to 8 are invited to participate in the Environmental Discovery Series at the Jennings Environmental Education Center.
This summer's three-day program is titled "Hurray for Things That Fly and Swim and Creep and Crawl" and will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon July 15, 17 and 19.
Parents must register children no later than July 5 by calling the Jennings Environmental Education Center at (724) 794-6011 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. Programs are free of charge, limited to 20 children, and are filled on a first come, first served basis.
The program will take a closer look at the habitats and habits of area birds, aquatic life and reptiles by exploring various areas of the park and through outdoor learning activities.
Participants should wear shoes suitable for hiking and dress for outdoor activities. Each child should bring water, juice and a small snack for each day. Children are encouraged to attend the entire series. Parents must accompany their children for sign-in on the first day of attendance.
