Friends conduct safari in gardens



The event is planned as a benefit for Fellows Riverside Gardens and its endowment fund.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Area residents are being invited to respond to the call of the wild by participating in "Safari -- A Garden Adventure" to be sponsored by Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens on July 26 at the gardens at Mill Creek Park.
Beginning at 6 p.m. guests will have an opportunity to explore the gardens and learn about Africa. The evening will include an African heritage exhibit, bush walks and a safari hunt for hidden treasure. Delicacies will be served at camps along the way, the Harambee Dance Troupe will entertain, and music will be provided by a jazz ensemble.
Admission is $60 for standard and $90 for patrons. Proceeds will benefit the gardens and its endowment fund. For additional ticket information or for an invitation to the event, call the gardens at (330) 740-7116.
