DOCTORS
Robert Moser
Robert J. Moser, a graduate of Poland Seminary High School, received his medical degree from the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine.
Dr. Moser, the son of Dr. Russell and Donna Moser of Poland, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Akron. His medical residency will be at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus in internal medicine.
Damon Reed
Damon Reed has received his doctor of medicine degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. A 1994 valedictorian of Canfield High School, Dr. Reed received an undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Dayton. He will begin his residency training in pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital.
At graduation ceremonies, he received the Case Western Reserve University Medical Alumni Association Board of Trustees Award presented to a graduating student for outstanding service and contributions to the school of medicine. Dr. Reed was a dean's scholar and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He is the son of Joseph and Cynthia Reed of Boardman.
SCOUTS
Rhoads earns Eagle
Jim Rhoads, son of James and Mary Lou Rhoads, recently received his Eagle Scout award at a court of honor in First Federated Church of North Jackson.
He is a member of Western Reserve Council, Boy Scouts of America Troop 105, which meets at the church, with Jim Hamilton as scoutmaster.
Rhoads began scouting as a Tiger Cub Scout and later earned his Arrow of Light and became a Boy Scout in 1992. He has earned 22 merit badges and the religion award and held the offices of senior patrol leader, assistant patrol leader and scribe.
For his Eagle service project, he, along with his fellow scouts, refurbished a nature trail for Jackson-Milton Elementary School.
He is a member of the church and is a recent graduate of Mineral Ridge High School. He will attend ITT Technical Institute majoring in computer-aided drafting and design.
Smith earns Eagle
Richard Hamilton Smith, 18, son of Robert and Peppe Smith of Muirfield Drive in Canfield, recently received his Eagle Scout award at a court of honor ceremony in Canfield United Methodist Church.
He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 25 with scoutmaster Kevin Prus Sr. He joined the troop in 1995 and has held the positions of junior assistant scoutmaster, assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, scribe and assistant senior patrol leader.
Smith has earned 32 merit badges and the Bob Roberts Memorial Backpatch with five points. He attended the 1997 National Boy Scout Jamboree, 1998 Philmont Scout Ranch, 1999 Florida Sea Base and 2001 National Boy Scout Jamboree.
He is a recent graduate of Canfield High School, where he was a member and president of chambers ensemble, member of Canfield Players, Junior Engineering Technical Society, Key Club, National Honor Society, speech and debate team and varsity bowling team, where he was captain for two years.
He also received the second place award in state speech tournament's Policy Debate for Speech and Debate category in 2000. He was Outstanding Speaker of the Year, National Merit Commended Scholar, best performance in bowling and best speaker in speech.
Smith is a member of Old North Church. His Eagle Scout service project was to devise a promotional Web site for varsity bowling.
LAWYERS
David DelBoccio
David DelBoccio received his juris doctorate degree from Thomas Cooley Law School in Lansing, Mich. DelBoccio is a native of Youngstown, the son of Richard and Shirley DelBoccio. He is a graduate of Youngstown State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in business communications. He also attended the University of Florence in Florence, Italy and Oxford University in Oxford, England, where he received a degree in international law.
DelBoccio is practicing law with the law firm Baxter and Associates in Farmington Hills, Mich.
Kristi Kmetz
Kristi J. Kmetz, daughter of Kenneth and Rose Kmetz of Badal Drive, Lowellville, recently graduated from Ohio Northern's Pettit College of Law at Ohio Northern University, where she received the degree of juris doctor.
Kmetz is a 1995 graduate of Lowellville High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University in 1999.
