Calpins feted at dinner party on anniversary



YOUNGSTOWN -- The banquet center at the Holiday Inn in Boardman was the setting June 21 for a dinner party held in celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Calpin, 732 Havenwood Drive.
Invitations for the event were extended by their family, Timothy and Romonia Calpin of Bradenton, Fla.; Tracy and Larry Taylor of Westminster, Calif.; and Terry and Rick Greenfield of Boardman. There are also five grandchildren in the family.
Married June 21, 1952, at St. Patrick Church, the Calpins are members of Good Hope Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Calpin is the former Janet Eakins Turney. She is guidance counselor at Boardman High School, and is a member of the Boardman, Ohio and National education associations and of the Priscilla Circle at the church.
Mr. Calpin served with the U.S. Army and retired in 1993 from his position as social studies curriculum specialist with the Youngstown Board of Education. He is a member of Mahoning and Ohio retired teachers associations.
