YOUNGSTOWN -- Daniel Medvec of Struthers and his bride, the former Christine Kortes of Austintown, honeymooned in Aruba following their May 25 wedding at St. Dominic Church.
The daughter of Neal and Paula Kortes and Patricia and Steve Horvath, all of Girard, and the son of John and Diane Medvec Sr. of Struthers were united in marriage at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Brian Mulcahy and were honored afterward during a reception at the Maronite Center, Youngstown.
The bride's princess-style gown of white satin was embellished with pearls and lace, and featured a sweetheart neckline, long sleeves and a cathedral train.
Ice-blue gowns were worn by the honor attendants, Alexis Kortes, the bride's sister, and Jessica Kengor. Wearing ice-silver gowns were the bridesmaids, Stacey Medvec, a sister of the groom; Jodi Fernholz; and Christina Fosnaught. Junior bridesmaid was Sera Granato, his cousin.
John Medvec Jr. performed the duties of best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Neal Kortes, the bride's brother; Michael Medvec, a cousin of the groom; Daniel McCormick; and David Burich. Ring bearer was John Medvec III, his nephew.
The bride graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in marketing from Youngstown State University and is a customer-support representative with ComDoc in Girard.
The groom, a supervisor with Sleepy Hollow Sleep Shop, earned a certificate from Youngstown College of Massotherapy and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing at YSU.
The couple live in Austintown.
