Express win 2-1
CANTON -- The Youngstown Express collegiate baseball team beat previously undefeated Stark County 2-1 Wednesday.
Justin Hedrick threw a six-hitter for eight innings for the Express (3-2).
The Express got on the board when Chase Odenreider hit a two-run single to center in the first inning.
The Terriers are 4-1.
McGee leadssenior event
UNIONTOWN -- Jerry McGee of East Palestine shot rounds of 67 and 69 to lead the NOPGA Michelob Light/Acushnet Co. Senior Open at Prestwick Country Club.
McGee's 8-under 136 leads the pro division by four strokes over Joe Flogge of Norton, who shot 73-67.

WILMINGTON, Del. -- Tampa Bay Devil Rays prospect Mark Malaska of Youngstown pitched two scoreless innings for the California League All Stars as they tied the All Stars of the Carolina League, 3-3, on Tuesday.
Malaska, a left-handed pitcher drafted in 2000 from the University of Akron, was the starting pitcher and allowed no hits.

In another quarterfinal, Britain's Greg Rusedski beat Sweden's Magnus Larsson 6-7 (4), 7-6 (3), 6-3. Rusedski will face Jonas Bjorkman, who beat Russian Andrei Stoliarov 6-1, 6-0.
