Genealogical society marks 30th year



HUBBARD -- The Mahoning County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society met June 17 at The Gallery to celebrate the organization's 30th anniversary.
Carol Willsey Bell, certified genealogist, was guest speaker, new officers were installed. Those inducted as leaders of the organization were Paul Kreutzer, president; Ron Garchar, vice president; Patricia Grimm, recording secretary; Janet Griffin, corresponding secretary; Louis Joseph, treasurer; and Sue E. Bell, historian.
In attendance were three former presidents and charter members of the chapter, Bell, Margaretta Hosack Jones and Jocelyn Fox Williams.
The chapter was chartered in April 1972 to promote the ideals and goals of the OGS. It maintains an ongoing publications program and has published more than 20 books containing various Mahoning County records.
