Bullying defined: A person is being bullied or victimized when he or she is exposed, repeatedly and over time, to negative actions.
Respect is the underlying theme taught in the "Don't Laugh At Me" program's curriculum to prevent bullying. Respect is an earned quality that entails:
UReal listening.
UTreating others fairly and appropriately.
ULearning to apologize.
UBeing honest and forthright.
URecognizing that adults are fallible.
UTolerance for and acceptance of differences.
UWillingness to address difficult issues.
