Two men are arraigned on drug charges

YOUNGSTOWN -- Two city men were released from jail after posting bond on drug charges stemming from separate matters.
Christopher A. Pierce, 20, of East Myrtle Avenue appeared Wednesday in Youngstown Municipal Court and pleaded innocent to charges of drug abuse charge and carrying a concealed weapon. He was arrested Tuesday after police received a call about a vehicle's being driven erratically on the city's South Side.
While searching the vehicle, police recovered a loaded handgun on the floorboard behind the driver's seat, and a bag of suspected marijuana from the glove box. His next court date is next Thursday.
Anthony H. Stanford, 43, of Pasadena Avenue appeared in a separate hearing on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and on warrants alleging criminal trespassing and obstruction of official business. His next court date is July 9.
