YOUNGSTOWN Canfield teen charged in city, county courts

A Youngstown teen continued to follow the car after he had been shown a handgun and a baseball bat, police said.
YOUNGSTOWN -- A Canfield teen accused of pointing a handgun at a motorist during a weekend traffic dispute is facing charges in two courts.
Robert Brocker III, 18, of Glenview Drive, is charged in Youngstown Municipal Court with aggravated menacing. He hasn't entered a plea. He posted $1,000 bond Saturday.
Brocker pleaded innocent Monday in Mahoning County Court in Austintown to improper transportation of a firearm. His next hearing in Youngstown is set for Aug. 14; his next hearing in Austintown is set for July 22.
A Youngstown teen told police he was driving north on Meridian Road near Mahoning Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Saturday when a Chevy Blazer driven by Brocker cut him off. The teen said he later passed Brocker's Blazer in an effort to turn east onto Oakwood.
Both the teen and his passenger, an Austintown girl, said they looked back and saw Brocker point a gun at them through the passenger side window. Brocker then drove off, they said.
The argument
As the passenger dialed 911 on her cell phone, the teen followed Brocker north on Meridian Road to a red light at Connecticut Road. Both drivers then stopped their cars, got out and argued, the teen said.
During the argument, Brocker showed the teen a baseball bat, the teen said. The teen said the light then turned green, and both he and Brocker got back into their cars.
The teen followed Brocker into Austintown as his passenger talked to Austintown police on her cell phone.
Police said that when they pulled behind Brocker, he wrapped the gun and ammunition in a plastic bag and threw it out the window. Police said he told them he displayed the gun during a dispute in Youngstown.
