SCRAPPERS NOTEBOOK From Falcon Park

Affiliation: Auburn is an affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. The parent club's No. 1 draft pick, shortstop Russ Adams, opened the season with the Doubledays. Adams, who played at the University of North Carolina, led off Tuesday and went 0-for-2 with a run scored.
Family ties: Auburn's Ernie Durazo and Brad Hassey each have relatives with major league experience. Durazo's cousin, Erubiel Durazo, is a first baseman with the Arizona Diamondbacks, while Hassey's father, Ron Hassey, is a former catcher with the Cleveland Indians and Oakland Athletics.
Season-opening struggles: Manager Chris Bando knows his players won't have long to ponder their first loss. "The great thing about this game is we come back tomorrow," he said. "We can start fresh and hopefully put more runs on the board than we did tonight." The Scrappers now have lost three of their four season openers.
Rest of series: The Scrappers play two more games in Auburn before opening their home season Friday at Cafaro Field against the Batavia Muckdogs. Game time is 7:05 p.m. After its home opener, Mahoning Valley plays seven straight home games.
Pitching matchups: Scheduled to take the mound for the Scrappers in their next four games are: Victor Kleine tonight, Blake Allen on Thursday, Shane Wallace on Friday and Michael Rogers Saturday.
