Man faces charge in beating wife, 16

CANFIELD -- A Fairground Boulevard man has been accused once again of beating his 16-year-old wife.
Ronald Sabelli, 24, was charged with domestic violence early today after police spoke with a Mahoning County assistant prosecutor. The teen told police Sabelli held her on the ground and hit her Monday.
She added that he also snapped his pants like a towel at her eye. Police said the teen-ager's eyelid was swollen and purple, and she had scrapes and red marks on her face and neck.
She said the assault occurred after she threw an ashtray and candle at Sabelli. She said she also punched him in the nose because he was ignoring her and playing video games. Police told the girl she also could be charged with domestic violence. They are investigating.
Sabelli also was accused of throwing his wife to the ground, grabbing her and choking her in early May. He pleaded innocent May 8 in county court here and was ordered not to have contact with her.
Judge Scott Hunter ruled May 15, after speaking with Sabelli's attorneys and prosecutors, that Sabelli could live with the girl.
