Pastor plans to retire
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Reese M. Wills will retire as the chaplain and director of pastoral and spiritual services at Park Vista Retirement Community this month. He's served there since 1980.
He also served as parish associate to Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church from 1989 to 1999 and interim pastor at Gibson Heights Second Presbyterian Church since 2000.
He's s a graduate of Marysville College in Tennessee and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He became a board-certified chaplain by the Association of Professional Chaplains in 1985.
During his chaplaincy at Park Vista, he helped established the Stephen Ministry program, refurbish the Roy Park Chapel and helped residents participate in the annual CROP walk.
Pastoral training
YOUNGSTOWN -- Forum Health's pastoral care department will soon have another 10-week training program for clergy and laypeople interested in becoming associate volunteer chaplains at Trumbull Memorial Hospital and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, in the Warren area, and Northside Medical center and Tod Children's Hospital.

Father's Day events
YOUNGSTOWN -- The men of Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church will be host of a breakfast honoring all fathers within the community 8 a.m. Sunday.
The fellowship will also formally dedicate the Dr. E.F.E. Rheins Fellowship Hall that was recently renovated.
The hall is being named in honor of the pastor emeritus who served the church from 1962-96. Guest speaker will be Mark T. Rheins Jr.

In Girard, First United Methodist Church will have a community Father's Day Celebration at 10 a.m. Sunday.
Evangelism crusade
YOUNGSTOWN -- Greater Mount Zion COGIC will have an evangelism crusade at 3 p.m. June 29 in the church parking lot.
It will include speakers, music, skits and free food and refreshments.
Awards announced
YOUNGSTOWN -- Nancy Van Horn, the 2002 Woman of the Year, and Richard Gramelt, the 2002 Man of the Year, were announced after Liberty Presbyterian Church's annual family dinner June 2.
Van Horn serves Liberty Presbyterian Church as an elder and is the social committee chairwoman.
She's been a member of the church for 26 years and is employed as a first-grade teacher at Prospect Elementary School in Girard.
Gramelt also is an elder and a chairman of the outreach committee, where he oversees the inception of new programs.
He's been a member of the church for 32 years. Gramelt is retired.
Choir to perform
YOUNGSTOWN -- Victory Lutheran Church will present a concert by the Bethlehem Lutheran Gospel Choir from St. Louis, Mo., at 6 p.m. June 25.
The choir presents its music ministry in urban churches.
Blessing services
NORTH JACKSON -- The National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon will have a blessing and investing of the scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, which is July 16.
Services will be at 5:30 p.m. July 13 and 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. July 14.
