CSEA audit
Key findings and recommendations included in a performance audit of the Mahoning County Child Support Enforcement Agency:
Improve case management and processing.Implement a generalized case management system.Use all available enforcement tools for support collection.Utilize more administrative processes to increase collection of arrearage and minimize the number of cases that go to court.Do not fill 13 vacant intake/support specialist positions, one data entry support staff position and 2.5 support staff positions.Develop a long-term strategic plan for improved performance.Establish procedures to freeze and seize bank accounts of noncustodial parents who owe child support.Conduct an employee survey to determine staff training needs.Implement a formal customer complaint procedure.Train all case workers to handle customer service activities.
