YOUNGSTOWN -- Due to a typographical error by the assistant U.S. attorney prosecuting eight men in a crack cocaine case, the wrong picture of Jason N. Heard, 28, of Youngstown was published Friday with the story.
The picture used was of Jason E. Heard, 28, of Youngstown, who is not charged. The name on the indictment was incorrectly listed as Jason E. Heard by the federal prosecutor.
Pool opening delayed
YOUNGSTOWN -- Borts Pool could not open today as planned because of mechanical problems. The city parks department said it was working on the problem and expects the pool to open Tuesday.
Computer theft
POLAND -- A teacher at Poland Seminary High School reported the theft of a system board from the computer lab.
According to reports, someone entered the lab between Wednesday and Thursday and removed the item from a Dell computer, damaging a memory chip in the process.
Electricity theft
POLAND -- Police are investigating the theft of electricity from a Tala Drive residence. According to reports, the landlady of two properties was doing a routine check of the residences and noticed electrical wires from one electrical box connected to another box in a separate residence.
Reports said a check with Ohio Edison showed the service of one residence had been cut off because of unpaid bills.
The landlady and the tenant of the home where the wires were connected think the illegal wiring was done between June 1 and June 7.
Police disconnected the wires and took a panel door into evidence.
Community cleanup
CRAIG BEACH -- This week the village will be conducting a community cleanup through 6 a.m. Saturday. A curbside trash pickup from BFI will conclude the week's activities.
Several items will not be picked up, such as car parts, construction materials, paint products, explosives, dead animals and anything that constitutes hazardous wastes. Metals may be brought to the municipal building parking area.
The Mahoning County Green Team is providing bags for volunteer cleanup areas as well as recycle bags for anyone wishing to recycle products. Volunteers may contact the municipal building at (330) 654-2107 for time and area assignments.
Dogs being tended
STRUTHERS -- Three Rottweilers are still in the care of their owners after allegations that they were abandoned were found to be false.
Humane Officer Dave Nelson and members of the police department were told by neighbors last week they believed the Wilson Avenue family had moved and left the dogs in an outdoor pen without food or water. Nelson posted notices for the family to contact him or the dogs would be removed.
The family reached Nelson Friday. No charges were filed.
Free Kid Fit program
YOUNGSTOWN -- The YWCA of Youngstown and the Youngstown State University Department of Human Performance and Exercise Science is offering Kid Fit, a free program geared toward overweight children, Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning today and lasting through Aug. 14.

Harley-Davidson show
LORDSTOWN -- Employees of the Lordstown Metal Center, a division of General Motors Corp., will present $20,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation during the metal center's third annual Harley-Davidson Ride-in Bike Show at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
United Autoworkers of America and GM are national sponsors for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. About 40 employees of Lordstown Metal Center will parade their bikes through the plant.
The money will enable the foundation to grant the wishes of four children suffering from life-threatening illnesses. Plant employees supported the fund-raising campaign by raffling a Harley and selling T-shirts and baked goods.
