DOG WALK Second Chance schedules benefit

CANFIELD -- Second Chance Animal Rescue will sponsor its second annual Four-Paws-A-Thon dog walk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 22 at the Colonial Inn on the Canfield Fairgrounds, Route 46.
Registration will take place from 10 to 10:45 a.m. with a two-mile walk beginning at 11 a.m.
A demonstration of dog tricks will be held from noon to 12:30 p.m. followed by contests with first-, second- and third-place prizes in the categories of most talkative, waggiest tail, best trick or talent, and most beautiful and most handsome.
Prizes also will be awarded to the person and pet with the most pledges.
Participants are asked to collect pledges from friends and family for the walk. All pets must be on leashes (no retractable leashes, please), and must have proof of rabies vaccination along with veterinarian's name. Female dogs in any stage of heat will not be allowed to compete. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their own dogs.
All proceeds will benefit the nonprofit organization's efforts to provide good homes for abandoned and homeless animals in the area.
