Repec's hits power Line Drive to victory



STRUTHERS -- Matt Repec had two hits, one a double, as Line Drive Academy defeated Roth Brothers 7-2 Friday in the Youngstown Class B Baseball League at Cene Park.
Dan Ford had a two-RBI double for Line Drive in the second inning.
Vasili Pahoulis (1-0) pitched a complete game, striking out 10, and allowing only seven hits for Line Drive.
Adam DeFord went 3-for-3 for Roth (2-6).
Astro Falcons 12, Lazart 0: Sean Clayton and Dan Bertolini had two hits and three runs batted in each for the Astros (4-4).
John Hay (1-0) struck out six and did not walk a batter while allowing only three hits, one a double by Dean Stokes.
Lazart is 1-7.
Youngstown Propane 4, Livi Steel 2: Tom Zetts hit and pitched to lead Youngstown Propane (8-0). Zetts allowed just three hits and two unearned runs while striking out four.
Zetts hit a solo home run to lead off the second inning to start the scoring.
Kevin Prus allowed just one earned run for Livi (4-4) while striking out eight.
Jared Bogan had a two-RBI double for Propane in the three-run fourth.
Becdir 5, Rondinelli 2: Jared Caldwell struck out 10 and scattered six hits in winning his second game of the year for Becdir (5-3).
Gary Boris was 3-for-4 with a double for Becdir while Rick Murray hit a solo home run in the first inning.
Mike DeNiro hit a solo home run in the first inning for Rondinelli (4-4).
Chris Harris struck out ten in five innings of work and lost his second game of the year for Rondinelli.
Riordans 3, Youngstown Express 1: Mike Smallwood struck out 13 in pitching a two-hitter for Riordans (4-4).
He gave up no earned runs while walking three, hitting three batters, and he picked off two runners at first base.
Greg Mentrek had two hits, one a double, for Riordans while Mike Bashline added two singles.
For the Express (2-6), Chuckie Horner and Mike Turjanica had singles.
