McDONALD -- The Rev. Andrew Bush will speak of the challenge of deeper engagement between Christians and the Muslim community June 16 at Woodland Park United Methodist Church.
He and his wife, Karen, serve among the Palestinians on the West Bank under the auspices of the Palestinian Bible Society.
At the Living Stones Student Center, the couple have shared hardships with the university students they serve during the last two years of crisis in the Middle East.
The evening will begin with a covered-dish dinner at 6 p.m., with worship at 6:30 p.m.
The special musical guest for the evening is Jeanette Yaryan of the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Graduate program
YOUNGSTOWN -- Pastor Kenneth L. Simon and the congregation of New Bethel Baptist Church will hold a salute to their 2002 graduates at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.
This is the 35th year the church has held this event.
The church will honor 16 high school graduates. They will also honor 12 graduates of their Evangelical Training Associates.
The guest speaker for this special recognition is Dorothy O. Jackson, the deputy mayor of Akron for 13 years.
Appointment announced
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Gary Dilley was appointed pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Ravenna by Bishop Thomas J. Tobin, effective last Monday.
Father Dilley was ordained in 1972 for the Diocese of Charleston, S.C.
He served as a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force, as a hospital chaplain in St. Louis, Mo., and as a high school teacher in Maryland.
He was pastor at Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish in Vienna before his new assignment.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Gena Thornton Multipurpose Building is to be dedicated Nov. 5 through 8 to provide services to AIDS patients in Soweto, South Africa.
Last year, the Rev. Ms. Thornton of Youngstown and members of her church, St. Paul AME Church in Cleveland, went to the ground-breaking ceremony.
The Rev. Abram Tsimane, pastor of Allen Temple AME Church in Johannesburg, South Africa, has been helping with the project.
Members of St. Paul are helping with his medication for his diabetes.

Women's program
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Clinkscale Family Reunion presents "Woman, Thou Art Blessed! A Woman With a Vision" at Mount Olive FBH on June 15. Services begin at 1 p.m., dinner is at 5 p.m., and evening worship is at 7 p.m.
Six women are the speakers. They are Evangelists Joyce Boudrey, Greater Mount Zion Church of God in Christ; Laura Smith, Antioch Baptist Church; Lynn Phillips, Mount Calvary; Myrtis Rae Thornton, Union Baptist Church; Ashawnte Cook, Ebenezer COGIC; and Carole Fuzell, Mount Olive FBH.

Healing Mass set
YOUNGSTOWN -- A healing Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Casimir Church for the anointing of the sick, the elderly and the troubled. A light lunch will be served after the service.
Moon Walk set
VILLA MARIA, Pa. -- EverGreen will present a Full Moon Walk on the nature trails at Villa Maria Community Center at 9:30 p.m. June 24.
